One of the most spectacular and often visited spots in Waterford County are known as the Comeragh Mountains. A tall cascade glistens as the Mahon river water empties from a mountain lake then rushes down through the spacious valley before entering the sea at Bonmahon.
Inspired by this rugged landscape Martin Croke has sought to capture the contrast between the smooth flowing water and the sharp rocks it surges off. The Falls are represented by a broad band of long upright cuts, bounded on either side by a sharp criss-cross diamond pattern – a tumbling rocky backdrop, that reflects the pure mountain light from the continuous splash of the Falls.
