"Crystal possesses a sensual, vital strength. Objects are shaped in the glassworks in intensive, brief procedures from liquid glass to final form. I see my work as a way of conversing with the liquid crystal, not determining or forcing on it an exact shape. Bubbles in the hardening crystal, an uneven edge or a horizontal line in the melt may be an important part of the expression. I try to find the soul of the crystal, its innermost expression - fully aware that it always eludes me, always attracts me, and that perhaps the endeavor, the process itself is the objective."
